This was a strange one.
Someone called asking if I do commercial work. "Sure!" I say, "Why not?"
I go over to a storage facilty near my house and they say that they have a water leak that
only happens occaisionally. They've had the roof repaired, which fixed some of it, but still
having minor leaks. The main problem is that the window is three floors up. I tell them that
I could do it, but I would need to get authorization to rent a person lift for a day (they run
about $600/day).
I don't hear anything from them for about two months, and then they call and say I have the
authorization, and of course they need it done TOMORROW. I pushed back a bit because I already had
"tomorrow" booked up, but was able to accomodate them the next day. I had never operated a lift like
this, but I was able to figure it out and add some additional sealing around the window.
